Welcome to Court good Sir Nicholas, I know you to be a dear friend of ma Maman, Anne Boleyn.

Thou art very welcome at the Palace of Hatfield with my sister Mary and I if thou art trying to avoid father realising you are in our good company.

I have a little poem I wrote for Lord Blackadder if thou wishest to hear it?

My Lady, you flatter me with your generosity.

*bows deeply*

I will accept your gracious hospitality until such time as my own household is made ready at Kenilworth.

*flashes a charming smile beneath a raised brow*

If your sister possesses but half your charm and grace it would please me much to be among such fine company.

Sir Nicholas really, thou dost jest with me of course.

*picks up the bible that is fastened to the decorative chain hanging around her waist and fans herself with it*

I do believe my stomacher is laced too tightly today, I can hardly breathe in here!

A jest? Oh no my Lady one can not jest when faced with beauty. Nor did I mean any offense. It is a fault of thine to often speak to rashly what I see and feel in a breathe of moment with out foresight.


You need not burden yourself with my entertainment, your presence alone will suffice as such. And I should think your every syllable beautiful poetry. But please ...

*bows slightly almost mockingly*

Let us hear this ode to Blackadder

*takes up the small scroll of parchment, unfurls it and takes a seat.*

*looks up nervously at Sir Nicholas and her ladies in waiting*

This is the piece I put together for Lord Edmund Blackadder. It is titled 'Edmund'. Dear Wil Shakespeare helped me with the title but the rest is all my own work.

*smiles sweetly, then clears her throat loudly in a most unladylike manner*

When the nights are dark, and the dogs go... bark,

When the clouds are black and the ducks go... quack!

When the sky is blue, and the cows go mooo-oooo,

Think of lovely Lizzie, she'll be thinking of you.

*smiles broadly and then stares meanly at her ladies til they applaud her good work*

*wonders silently if the Lady meant the poem as a jest*


*clears his throat and paints on a charming smile to wipe away the smirk that is trying to emerge*


A work of art My Lady, truly. That alone has washed away the wearyness of my travels.

Ahaha.

He useth a goodly amount of eyeliner. I should like to try that myself sometime, just for fun...

Alas, Sir Nick is quick a catch.
Although I fear his eyes may even outdo yours my lady Anne.

Sir Nicholas, I have arrived. The most beautiful Queen in Europe, Marie Stuart. You can stop pretending to like that old dried-up Tudor stick now! *Smiles beautifully*.

*paints on a timid expression then bows to those present*

My Dear Anne, You strike me speechless, I am afraid. I am but a humble man at best. What ever beauty I possess is but a trifle when compared to that which now surrounds me.

*he waves an extended arm to include all present in the compliment*

*turns to Queen Anne of Cleves and flashes her a charming smile*

The eyeliner I would make a gift to you if you wish, I shall even endeavor to help you in applying it My Lady. Indeed, it would be an honor.

*his gaze shifts to Queen Marie Stuart as a wry grin parts his full lips, her confidence both pleases and amuses him*

when dear Robert Dudley last returned from his own sailing trip abroad he informed me that eyeliner was most essential in order to keep the sun from dazzling his eyes.

I am most fascinated by such things and do wish I could set off aboard ship too.

...of course the high quantity of sailors in eyeliner hath nothing to do with it. I hath Royal blood, and we do like the sea.
